Listen to Me is a bittersweet adventure — a cerebral frolic in the face of planetary crisis. Characters philosophize and laugh, they celebrate the pleasure of the written word, and they struggle heroically to hold onto hope as their prospects dim. You, in the audience — you're along for the ride. You're complicit. Dear Sweet William had his genius, and he looked for his Lillian. Everyone is saying there is no Lillian for Sweet William. Everyone says enough is enough. Curtain. Dear Sweet William. The Earth is all covered over with people. Anybody can be careful of what they do. So says Sweet William, and so says Lillian. Sweet William has never to remember forgetting. Dear Sweet William and his Lillian. There is no quiet moment; there is no quiet moment. William, two syllables. Curtain.
